Despite the cliche, "nobody's perfect", most of us believe, we are doing pretty good and quickly excuse most of our "imperfections".  Unfortunately, this cliche is often used as an attempted display of humility, but most of the time our true belief doesn't line up with Paul, who humbly writes about himself as a "wretched man" and says that there is "no good in me, that is in my flesh".  This wasn't a persona, this was the byproduct of spiritual maturity.  

Jesus said, "...My power is perfected in weakness."  This is why we can boldly proclaim our "perfection", imparted upon us through Jesus, without arrogance because it isn't a credit to anything we have done.  To the contrary, it is a testament to the unmatched greatness of Jesus and the unfathomable grace of God.

This is the central theme of Christianity.  Our hearts are deceitfully wicked, downright evil, incapable of any good.  If left to our own capabilities, we don't even possess the possibility of good.  Jesus is God, and as such He is perfect.  Our only hope for salvation is Jesus, and due to the unsurpassed sacrifice He made at Calvary, God sees Jesus' perfection in us when we believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior.  As a Christian, there is no better message to proclaim to the world!
